Job Title: Post-16 Pastoral & Student Success Coordinator

Location: Bromley, London

Working Pattern: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Salary: £33,762 - £44,027 (Spine Point 24 to 26)

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a prominent Further Education provider in Bromley to recruit a dedicated Post-16 Pastoral & Student Success Coordinator on a term-time-only basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to directly influence young people's educational journeys, guiding post-16 learners through crucial academic transitions, personal development, and career planning. Working as a key bridge between academic teams and student support services, you will help remove learning barriers and empower students to reach their full potential.

About the Setting

The college provides a modern, inclusive, and forward-thinking learning environment focused on preparing students for higher education, apprenticeships, and employment. Staff benefit from a collaborative, team-oriented culture where pastoral care and academic ambition work hand-in-hand to foster high achievement and student wellbeing.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging weekly group tutorials covering pastoral themes, safeguarding, study skills, social action, and career preparation.
  • Manage a tutorial caseload averaging 15 groups (approximately 300 students in total).
  • Conduct individual 1-to-1 mentoring sessions to set SMART targets and monitor student progress throughout the academic year.
  • Lead attendance and behaviour interventions in direct collaboration with curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external support agencies.
  • Monitor vulnerable student cohorts, acting as the primary point of contact for pastoral concerns and signposting to internal wellbeing or safeguarding teams.
  • Support learners with UCAS applications, personal statements, Gatsby benchmark activities, enrichment projects, and work experience tracking.
  • Attend disciplinary meetings, parents' evenings, and key college calendar events, including Open Days and enrolment periods.
