About Us
Nomad Café & Bakery is a small, independent café where everything is made with care. We bake pastries, breads, and treats from scratch and put the same attention into our sandwiches and coffee. Our focus is on quality, creativity, and giving people an experience they can’t just find anywhere else.
About You
We’re looking for someone who shares that spirit — someone who cares about the food they make, enjoys trying new things, and can balance working with precision and keeping up with a busy kitchen. If you like mornings, enjoy both pastry and savory cooking, and want to be part of a small team that values effort and creativity, this could be a good fit.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 6:00am–2:30pm (30 min lunch)

What the job includes:

  • Baking and pastry production (lamination, macaronage, and other French pastry techniques are important here).
  • Cooking and assembling sandwiches, prepping meats, and other café menu items.
  • Stock, grocery pick-ups, and simple paperwork like updating recipes or ordering lists.
  • Cleaning your station, basic prep, and jumping in where needed.

  • Someone who can work independently and is proactive.
  • A person who takes pride in their work, cares about details, and enjoys being creative with new ideas.
  • Patience and resilience — things won’t always go smoothly, and we need someone who handles that with a level head.
  • Strong time management — knowing when to move fast and when to slow down for detail.
  • Good communication skills with the rest of the team.
  • Enjoys early mornings

Requirements:

  • Intermediate cooking and pastry knowledge (not entry-level).
  • Experience with French pastry skills like macaronage and lamination.
  • Basic cooking techniques like sautéing.
  • Able to reliably get to work on time.
  • A driver’s license (occasional grocery pick-ups).
  • Ability to lift 30-40lbs

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
