  • 3–5 years of professional experience as a pastry chef with a strong focus on cake design and production
  • Exceptional skills in baking, icing, and decorative techniques (e.g., fondant, buttercream, piping, sugar work)
  • Strong artistic sensibility and creativity
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
  • Culinary degree or pastry certification preferred but not required with equivalent experience

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Pastry Chef focused primarily on cakes, you will be responsible for designing, baking and decorating custom cakes for a variety of events including weddings, birthdays, corporate events and special occasions. You will be an integral part of our kitchen team, working in a fast-paced environment where quality, innovation, and attention to detail are key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute custom cakes from concept to completion
  • Bake and decorate cakes for daily production and special orders
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to create bespoke cake designs
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized and compliant kitchen environment
  • Stay up-to-date on current cake trends, techniques and tools
  • Manage ingredients inventory and assist in ordering supplies when needed
  • Train and mentor junior staff when applicable
