Al Hallab Restaurant & Sweets is seeking a motivated and skilled Pastry Chef Assistant to join our renowned kitchen team. As a Pastry Chef Assistant, you will support the Pastry Chef in creating and preparing delicious pastries, desserts, and sweets that reflect the high standards of quality and authenticity that Al Hallab is known for. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry arts, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Strong passion for pastry arts and dessert creation.
  • Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and preparation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items (up to 25kg).
  • Comfort in working in a hot and busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing and producing a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and confections.
  • Help in the daily preparation of baked goods, including doughs, creams, batters, and fillings, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in decorating and presenting pastries for service in a visually appealing manner.
  • Prepare ingredients and assist in measuring, mixing, and portioning for pastry production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen team to ensure ingredients and supplies are stocked.
  • Ensure that all pastries are made to the highest quality standards and served fresh.
  • Support the Pastry Chef in planning and creating new dessert menu items in line with restaurant trends and customer preferences.
  • Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Follow all kitchen procedures, including food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
