JOB SPECIFICATION
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our Avoca Malahide team to prepare food, dishes, and recipes in line with Avoca standards and quality. This is a permanent position.
This position is ideal for anyone who is seeking to advance their culinary career. You will be working with fresh food produce and artisan ingredients. Our chefs are hardworking and creative, and we are very team focused. It is a busy kitchen and there will be high volume orders during seasonal periods, but it is an exciting time of development for us. You will be working closely with our experienced team of Chefs, to continue to develop our artisanal food offering, and.to prepare cakes, pastries and other baked goods in line with Avoca standards, recipes and quality.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 2 years of experience
Ability to work well with your team during busy periods
Bring creativity with your input into menu design.
A full knowledge of HACCP and its implementation
Be detail oriented especially in relation to health and safety rules
Be energetic and have a friendly disposition, strong interpersonal skills, a good team player.
Be reliable and trustworthy.
Supporting the Head Chef in delivering consistently high-quality food to Avoca customers.
Keeping up to date with new products, recipes, preparation techniques and HACCP requirements.
Responsible for all health and safety standards and food management systems (HACCP) when the Head Chef is absent. Includes knowledge of all procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, allergens, receiving products, storage, and sanitation.
Ensuring stock is properly rotated, products are ordered in time from our various suppliers, with attention paid to stock levels.
