Saving Thyme has a part-time (with potential for full-time) position open on our baking team for someone who is passionate about creating beautiful pastry and looking to build a career in hospitality. Responsibilities and Job Description:

  • Prepare and bake breads and pastries at 5am
  • Prepare doughs and dry pastry products
  • Prepare and finish a wide range of French desserts
  • Ensure quality, presentation and consistency within all products
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Understand, operate, and maintain baking equipment
  • Great attention to detail and creativity

Skills, Qualities and Experience:

  • Proficient in food handling techniques and knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • First Aid, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety familiarity

Experience as a baker in a professional kitchen environment is awesome, but we also love to teach new and inexperienced people our craft. A great attitude and a willingness to learn is the most important quality you can bring!
You must be available to work on weekends (trust us, having Mondays off is great!). A normal day will start in the morning and finish early in the afternoon and will be spent in a lovely, French inspired atmosphere that always smells amazing! We are proud to offer our full time team members a fully funded, comprehensive health and dental benefits program.
The entire staff (excluding owners and we don’t hire managers) share equally in the tip pool which consistently adds $5-$8 per hour worked to each staff member’s daily pay.
