OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry chef / Baker to join our small team in South Oxfordshire.
We are ideally looking for someone with previous pastry experience within a commercial bakery or restaurant setting.
The person hired, will be responsible for making and shaping a variety of pastries and sourdough loaves. We also have a collaborative atmosphere in the bakery, so would like you to help come up with new and seasonal ideas for the pastry section.
We cannot sponsor I’m afraid and a car or transport will be needed as we bake in a rural area. Likewise, we cannot offer accommodation at this time.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles.
  • Experience in food production within a restaurant or bakery environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members in the kitchen.
  • A passion for baking and creativity in developing new recipes is an asset.

  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes.
  • Ensure all food production meets safety and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to create new recipes and improve existing ones.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the baking area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
  • Assist in training junior kitchen staff in baking techniques and food safety practices.
