Café Monarch is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to join our award-winning culinary team. This is an hourly position ideal for a passionate professional who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a refined, fast-paced kitchen. The ideal candidate has experience in upscale pastry and dessert preparation and is committed to consistency, creativity, and excellence on the plate.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of experience in a professional pastry or baking role
  • Strong knowledge of pastry fundamentals, including doughs, custards, mousses, and chocolate work
  • High attention to detail and presentation
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (ServSafe certification is a plus)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to stay calm under pressure

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and plate desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Support daily prep work and assist with setup and breakdown of the pastry station
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout service
  • Work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely execution
  • Assist with inventory rotation and minimizing waste
  • Stay up to date on menu changes and seasonal offerings
