We looking for an experienced Baker / Pastry Chef to join our growing kitchen team and help develop our Asian-style bakery range.

We welcome candidates from British, European, Asian or other professional bakery backgrounds.

Previous Asian bakery experience is NOT required. What matters is that you have solid professional baking or pastry experience, understand commercial bakery production, and are interested in learning and developing Asian-style bakery products.

Full product and recipe training will be provided.

The Role

You will be involved in the preparation and production of a growing range of Asian-style breads, pastries and baked products.

Depending on your experience, you will work with our team on products such as:

Asian-style soft breads and buns
Sweet and savoury buns
Filled breads and pastries
Asian-style cakes and desserts
Tarts and baked pastries
Seasonal and new product development

As the bakery range develops, there will also be opportunities to contribute ideas and help develop new products for our restaurants and future retail concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare doughs, batters, fillings and pastry components
Mixing, kneading, shaping, filling, proofing and baking
Operate bakery equipment and ovens safely and efficiently
Monitor fermentation, proofing, baking time and temperature
Produce products consistently according to company recipes and specifications
Maintain consistent portion size, appearance, texture and quality
Plan daily production according to expected demand
Maintain accurate ingredient usage and minimise unnecessary food waste
Follow food hygiene, allergen, cleaning and food safety procedures
Maintain a clean and organised bakery workstation
Work with the kitchen and management team on new products and seasonal ranges

What We Are Looking For

Applicants should have:

Previous professional experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or in commercial bakery production
Good understanding of dough preparation, fermentation/proofing and baking
Confidence using professional bakery equipment
Good attention to detail and product consistency
Ability to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
Good organisation and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new techniques and Asian-style bakery products
A reliable and responsible approach to work
The legal right to work in the UK

Asian bakery experience is NOT required.

Experience with Asian, Hong Kong, Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese bakery products would be an advantage, but full product training will be provided.

Pay & Benefits

£13.00–£18.00 per hour, depending on experience and ability
Full-time, permanent position
28 days' paid holiday per year, including bank holidays (pro rata where applicable)
