Job Overview:

Most importantly, we're looking for a master craftsperson who just won't accept 99% as good enough. The successful candidate will be able to teach us all something, having a wealth of experience and success in managing and leading a team of senior bakers, artisan bakers, bakery assistants and kitchen porters.

As Head Baker at Otis & Belle, you will be responsible for the management of all things production;

- Overseeing preparation, fermentation, lamination, baking and output of bread, viennoiserie & pastry products.

- Formulating recipes in collaboration with the team - demonstrating the creative flair, intuition, critical appraisal and precision delivery skills needed to bring new products to market.

- Enforcing standards to ensure the highest level of quality control across the team, to ensure customers get the best possible goods.

- Strong team leadership skills, focussing on the continuous improvement in performance and ongoing development of all staff, with patience, and whilst maintaining morale.

- Scheduling production using our bakery management system and demonstrating the knowledge and execution of effective processes to continuously improve ways of working

- Bakery Operations and Financials - inventory and waste control, costing products and enforcing hygiene.

- Sourcing and managing appropriate stock levels of necessary ingredients from Vendors.

MUST HAVES:

- At least two years experience of leading a successful production team with highest quality standards and growing output

- Ability to step into an existing team and take ownership, leading the team through effective change as it is necessary to improve working processes

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
