W Brisbane located at 81 North Quay, Brisbane City is hiring a Pastry Chef de Partie. Reporting to the Executive Chef and Pastry Sous Chef, you will ensure the quality, consistency and production of your area of responsibility. For this role, we are looking for someone who demonstrates creativity and precision in pastry preparation while leading and inspiring the Pastry team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality pastry items and supporting both the front and back of house teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

  • Oversees the preparation, production, and presentation of all pastry and dessert items, ensuring they meet prescribed recipes and quality standards
  • Supervises the pastry section during shifts and ensures all work is carried out in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintains proper food handling, preparation, and storage practices
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. HACCP)
  • Leads and mentors the pastry team, managing shift duties and ensuring smooth kitchen operations
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Ensuring and maintaining the productivity level of Talent
  • Contributes to achieving financial goals by managing pastry inventory, minimizing waste, and ensuring cost control
