REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a commercial pastry kitchen or patisserie
  • Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of the pastry section
  • Expertise in a variety of techniques:
  • Choux, laminated doughs, sponges, mousses, entremets, glazes, tarts
  • Chocolate and sugar work (highly regarded)
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, allergens, and portion control
  • A creative mindset with a passion for modern dessert trends and innovation

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently prepare and present a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, desserts, and baked goods
  • Design and execute seasonal dessert menus and daily offerings
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in taste, texture, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen space (HACCP standards)
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and ingredient rotation
  • Handle all tasks in the pastry section from prep to plating — confidently and without supervision
  • Maintain a high standard of kitchen hygiene and food safety at all times
