We are looking for an enthusiastic Pastry Chef to join our family on a full-time basis. We are looking for someone who has a strong background in a culinary environment as a Pastry Chef with over 2 years’ experience. A skilled professional with the ability to oversee specific kitchen sections and with a proven track record of upholding the highest standards of culinary excellence and contributing to the overall success of the dining experience. This position reports to the Executive Chef.
Location: The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, London
Employment type: Full-time
Working pattern: Shift work 5 days on 2 days off
Salary: £35,000 per year + service charge

Key Responsibilities of a Pastry Chef:

  • Create a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Executive Chef to develop and refine the pastry menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
  • Oversee the pastry section, ensuring all team members work efficiently and to the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of pastry ingredients, ensuring minimal waste and keeping costs within budget.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, and ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served according to safety guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior pastry chefs, fostering a collaborative and learning environment within the team.
  • Work closely with other kitchen departments to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during peak dining hours.
