JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and passionate person to join our team as the Head Pastry Chef’s assistant. The ideal candidate will have a background in the food industry, particularly in baking and pastry/chocolate preparation; as well as sales and customer service. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Pastry Assistant, you will play a vital role in crafting delicious desserts and pastries that delight our customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in the food industry and customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with various baking techniques, equipment, and tools used in pastry preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • A passion for creating high-quality baked goods and chocolates.
  • A diploma in Baking/Pastry Arts is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings and customer preferences.
  • Maintain inventory of baking supplies, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
  • Package products for retail as needed, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
  • Provide an excellent customer service experience by explaining the product-line and answering any questions thoroughly, as well as taking custom orders accurately.
