POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Italian Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting authentic Italian pastries and desserts under the guidance of the Pastry Chef. This position is hands-on, focusing on consistency, technique, and maintaining the traditions of Italian dolci while ensuring efficiency and high standards in daily production.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 1–3 years of experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or relevant role (Italian pastry experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with Italian desserts and baking techniques.
  • Culinary or pastry school training is a plus but not required with sufficient experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and baking of traditional Italian pastries (e.g., cannoli, biscotti, sfogliatelle, crostata, tiramisù, panna cotta, semifreddo).
  • Execute recipes with precision, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Follow the Pastry Chef’s direction in creating daily specials, seasonal desserts, and event menus.
  • Manage mise en place and maintain an organized workstation.
  • Assist with doughs, creams, mousses, fillings, and garnishes for Italian desserts.
  • Properly store ingredients and monitor freshness and quality.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards are upheld at all times.
  • Work efficiently to meet service deadlines and production needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and productive kitchen environment.
