Major Food Group is hiring experienced Pastry Cooks to join our team at Carbone Vino in Coconut Grove!
Vino is a new concept from Major Food Group celebrating timeless artisanship and the most coveted wines of Italy complete with a thousand bottle wine cellar. The menu features an extensive selection of handmade pastas, Sicilian pizzas, signature entrées like spicy rigatoni and friend veal chop prepared “your way”, and fresh gelato served table-side.
We are hiring passionate and dedicated individuals to join our growing Miami team! As a valuable addition to our team, you must ensure that guests have a pleasant and memorable experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
  • Culinary diploma with a concentration in Pastry Arts or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
  • Team-orientated and positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills a must
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time

Responsibilities
  • Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
  • Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
  • Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
  • Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
  • Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
  • Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
  • Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
