Description The Glen Oaks Club, a premier club in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Full Time, Pastry Cook. The Glen Oaks Club is known for providing its members with an exceptional and personalized experience. Summary: Responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, following recipes and ensuring consistency in quality and taste. You will collaborate with the kitchen team to meet production schedules and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Prepare a wide range of baked goods such as bread, cakes, pastries, and desserts according to recipes. Monitor oven temperatures and bake time to ensure proper cooking. Decorate baked goods, such as cakes and cookies. Ensure all products are presented in an attractive manner. Follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan production schedules. Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies. Clean and maintain baking equipment and work areas Maintain accurate records of production and ingredient usage. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate baking and production schedules. Ensure that the bakery area is clean, organized, and free from hazards. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a bakery or pastry shop. In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and the ability to follow recipes. Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, etc. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet production deadlines. Excellent time management skills. Certification from a culinary school or apprenticeship is a plus. Ability to communicate and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Creativity and willingness to experiment with new recipes and techniques. Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
