Job Description
The Pastry Cook performs highly diversified tasks and is responsible for pastry and bread production on their assigned shift for 2 restaurants, Room service and the Banquet facilities. You assist in creating delicious memorable deserts for our hotel guests!

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • 3 years’ pastry experience in a Pastry facility, Shoppe or Bakery.
  • Basic knowledge of cakes, dessert sauces, pastry creams and mousses.
  • Creative and passionate about pastries and customer service.
  • Being an early bird, enjoy start working as early as 5am when required, and/or finishing a little late in the evenings (10p) where needed depending on Banquet and catering needs, being available for work on any day of the week.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and an ability to multi-task in a fast paced, exciting environment while working alongside a diverse group of colleagues
  • Skilled in communicating with colleagues with a polished appearance and a poised demeanor
  • Ability to naturally engage with anybody and show empathy; have genuine care and concern for both the well-being of our guests and fellow team members
  • A desire to learn and grow in a professional, fun and chic environment!

Responsibilities
  • Qualified candidate will manage the production of pastries to include tarts, cakes, cookies, etc.
  • Work with the culinary team in the heart of the house in ensuring quality pastries are prepared in a timely fashion; service is seamless; and efficiency of the operation is executed. At times, you may be required to work autonomously and will be responsible for the management of your work station.
  • Collaborate with your leaders in the kitchen, with banquet managers and servers to service the pastry need of the guests. Provide support for your team members throughout service.
  • Exercise good judgment and intuition to anticipate needs of your team, managers, co-workers and guests. Take initiative to connect with your fellow Heartists, inquire about their guest`s experience, and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Be empowered to lead pastry operations and address feedback from guests, and Food service colleagues.
