The Bakeologists - EXPERIENCED PASTRYCOOK REQUIRED – FULL TIME
Based at eagle farm we’re a successful retail and wholesale baking business which has been operating for the last 10 years. We offer a positive and stable workplace, one where you can work to achieve your personal goals while helping us achieve our business goals.
We are looking to add a pastrycook to our team to help us manage our production in our pastry and savoury department.
This new position has been created to compliment our current team of 8 bakers & apprentices to assist them in achieving our expected growth and increase in production over the next few months.
Our pastry department produces our savoury pastries (pies, sausage rolls quiches), sweet pastries (croissant, danish, puff etc) and sandwiches.
Experience in pies and sausage rolls is essential as to is the ability to use dough sheeters.
Our team rarely do more than their 5 days a week and overtime is limited, pay rates are industry standard, OT worked is paid (as it should be!)
we’re looking for an enthusiastic tradesperson who is committed to their trade. Someone that brings with them real baking knowledge and experience but is also willing to be flexible enough to follow us and our production methods.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Check the cleanliness of equipment and operating site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Check quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients
  • Implement appropriate baking techniques
  • Prepare pastry fillings
  • Monitor oven temperature and product appearance
  • Co-ordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of breads, rolls, and pastry products
  • Glaze buns and pastries, and decorate cakes with cream and icing
  • Operate machines that roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
  • Empty, clean, and grease baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment

Compulsory qualification (Minimum certificate III) in patisserie or pastry cookery
Minimum 1 year of experience in pastry preparation and baking
