Check out our quick video highlighting why working at Bishop Gadsden Culinary is different!Please copy/paste this link into your browser:https://vimeo.com/612840488/a87fa4f087 The individual in this role will ensure pastries and desserts meet or exceed quality standards as established by the Executive Chef, governing agencies, and Bishop Gadsden. A Typical Day: Supervise the daily implementation of pastry and dessert items and procedures which ensure the continued quality service of meals in accordance with expected facility standards. Verifies that all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, and food and equipment policies and procedures are maintained by kitchen employees. Verifies that all sanitation and nutrition practices and refrigeration temperature controls are maintained by kitchen employees. Inspects food garnishments for amount and quality for the Café and Winningham Court. Assists the Executive Chef with menu planning and scheduling of desserts and baked goods. Promote teamwork and cooperation among staff and with other operational departments. Requirements What We Need In A Candidate: Degree/Certification from a post-secondary culinary arts training program desirable. A minimum of 2 years in a high-volume food service operation. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written. Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material. Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. Ability to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds.
