JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Pastry Specialist
Reports to: Bake Lead
Schedule: Early mornings, weekdays and weekends as required
Position Overview:
The Pastry Specialist is responsible for making laminated doughs (like croissants), shaping pastries, creating butter blocks, and helping develop new pastry ideas. This role uses bakery equipment like mixers and sheeters and requires attention to detail and a love of working with your hands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make, roll, and shape laminated doughs for croissants, and other pastries
  • Prepare and work with butter blocks for lamination
  • Use bakery equipment safely and correctly (mixers, sheeters, ovens)
  • Help come up with and test new pastry ideas
  • Shape and finish pastries with care and consistency
  • Keep your workstation clean and follow food safety rules
  • Assist with organizing ingredients and supplies
  • Communicate with the Bake Lead about equipment or ingredient needs

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a bakery or kitchen is preferred , with pastries as a speciality
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Comfortable working early mornings and weekends
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be reliable and punctual
