QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

You must meet one of the following:
· A degree (Level 6) or equivalent + 1 year’s experience in a customer support environment
OR
· A BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma in Housing (Level 5) + 1 year’s experience
OR
· A BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma (Level 5) or equivalent + 2 years’ experience
OR
· Evidence of equivalent learning or professional development + 3 years’ experience

OTHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You must also show:

  • Experience in a customer-focused role, with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships with partners and other services
  • Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach to complex issues
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong communication skills, especially in challenging situations
  • A driving licence or access to transport to meet the job’s travel needs

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage tenancy terminations and oversee void property processes (excluding lettings).
· Support new tenants through the sign-up process, including affordability checks and benefits guidance.
· Sustain existing tenancies by providing advice on housing, rent, finances, and accessing support services.
· Address and resolve issues including anti-social behaviour, tenancy fraud, and abandonment.
· Assess and process transfer, succession, assignment, joint tenancy, and direct exchange requests.
· Maintain and manage rent accounts, taking proactive steps to prevent or reduce arrears.
· Deliver effective estate management and support planned maintenance works.
· Foster community cohesion and safety, including engagement with local residents.
· Liaise with leasehold units and other departments regarding mixed-tenure blocks.
· Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to support tenants and prevent homelessness.
