Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Patent Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a legal or intellectual property setting, with a strong understanding of patent processes and procedures. As a Patent Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting our patent attorneys in their day-to-day operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • GCE ‘A’ with Private Secretary Certificate, Diploma holder or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience as a legal secretary, patent secretary, or similar role in a law firm or intellectual property setting preferred but not essential .
  • Knowledge of patent prosecution procedure and IPOS digital hub system a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
  1. Handle electronic online filings for patent prosecution formalities and ensure timely filing with IPOS.
  2. Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, and foreign associates regarding patent filings, deadlines, and other matters. Respond promptly to inquiries and requests for information.
  3. Assist with billing, and invoicing activities. Provide secretarial and administrative support to Patent Attorneys.
  4. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity, adhering to ethical and professional standards.
  5. Covering other secretarial and/or administrative functions when required.
