About The Role As a Pathology Collector, you will collect blood and non-blood samples while delivering a positive, professional and caring experience to every patient. You’ll play an important role in ensuring samples are handled accurately and efficiently to support timely diagnosis and care. Key responsibilities: Collect blood and other samples with care, accuracy and attention to detail Provide a welcoming, calm and professional experience for patients Prepare and package specimens for transport in line with procedures Maintain accurate records and follow required processes Support smooth daily operations across the collection site About You Experienced Pathology Collectors are highly regarded, however this role can suit people from a range of backgrounds. Some of our most successful Collectors have come from working in aged care, disability support, nursing or in customer-facing roles where they have experience supporting people and providing a great service. Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in pathology collection is desirable but not essential Certificate III in Pathology Collection is desirable but not essential A background in healthcare (e.g. aged care, disability, nursing) or strong customer-facing experience Requirements A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement Ability to provide evidence of immunisation requirements including Hepatitis B Key Skills and Attributes To be successful in this role, you will have: A genuine care for people, with a high level of empathy and professionalism Strong communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with others, explain clearly and build trust Ability to follow processes and procedures with accuracy and consistency Ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Sound judgement, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt, take initiative and act within scope We believe everyone leads, no matter what role they are in. TrainingThis role requires completion of a 6-week paid training program designed to build the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in collections. This requires a commitment to full-time hours for the first 2 weeks, followed by a minimum of 25 hours per week.
