Description Full-Time (40 hours) The Patient Access Associate is responsible for registering patients by obtaining individual identifying and demographic data for the patient’s permanent medical record. This position requires that patients are registered/admitted in an accurate and timely manner. The Associate will be responsible for obtaining signed statements from patients or their representative to protect the hospital’s interest. The Patient Access Associate is responsible for collecting the patient’s financial obligation. Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list): Register patients efficiently and accurately by obtaining signatures, complete all required forms and provide patients’ information as required by state and federal regulations Request financial payments at the time of registration Utilize initiative and maintain productivity Demonstrate professionalism and productivity when answering the phone Provide a positive customer experience Requirements Qualifications a. Education: • High School graduate or equivalent • Hospital/Clinical experience preferred b. Necessary skills: • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions • Familiarity with Regulatory Standards • Ability for rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously • Ability to perform in emergency situations c. Physical Demands: • Requires sitting for long periods, sometimes in a confined space • Lifting/carry up to 30 lbs • Push up to 250 lbs • Repetitive finger movement • Repetitive twisting and pressure involving hand and finger mobility • Reaching at all levels • Stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching • Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens • Working around machinery with moving parts
