As a Patient Access Registrar, you will function as the receptionist, performing registration and clerical duties associated with patient admission. A caregiver in this position works part-time days from 3:30p.m.-10:00p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Visit patient rooms to gather needed insurance and financial information. Confirm eligibility, verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification, referral and authorization for identified patient registrations. Explain financial responsibilities for services received, payment options and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment. Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate. Ensure that all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for all patients and entered in the computer system with timeliness and accuracy. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Two years of related experience that includes patient registration, patient billing, insurance processing, or Physician office functions One year of public contact involving the resolution of customer/client issues OR one year of CCF experience involving reconciliation of issues related to patient accounts, patient registration, medical records or other related areas Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study may substitute for up to one year of experience Keyboarding skills at 40 wpm Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
