This position is responsible for managing patient intake processes, verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and clinical staff. The role requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who can handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism. By efficiently coordinating administrative tasks, the Patient Access Representative helps optimize clinic operations and supports the delivery of high-quality wound care services. Ultimately, this role contributes to patient satisfaction and the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * One year experience in a healthcare administrative or patient access role  * Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance processes. * Proficiency with standard office software. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field. * Experience working specifically in wound care or specialty clinics. * Familiarity with insurance verification software and billing procedures. * Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations. * Certification as a Patient Access Representative or similar credential. Responsibilities: * Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed. * Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately to ensure proper billing and coverage. * Completes admission record based on orders from the physician. * Obtains consent signature for admission and testing. * Arranges for transportation of patients to the appropriate in or out patients area. * Schedule and confirm patient appointments for wound care services, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize scheduling efficiency. * Maintain patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. * Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any access or billing issues. * Verify referrals, if applicable. * Assist patients with registration processes, including completion of necessary forms and consent documentation. * Respond promptly to patient inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, providing clear and empathetic communication. * Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient flow and address any administrative challenges that arise. Skills: The Patient Access Representative utilizes strong communication skills daily to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives, ensuring clear and compassionate exchanges. Attention to detail is essential when verifying insurance information and entering patient data into electronic health records to prevent errors and facilitate accurate billing.
