About the opportunity: Responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by performing both clinical and administrative tasks. Duties include obtaining and documenting vital signs, maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR), assisting clinical staff, registering patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-payments, and managing general communications and scheduling to ensure smooth clinic operations. What you will do: Registers patients and performs all related functions including collecting insurance information, financial paperwork, consents, and co-payments; ensures accuracy and completeness of data in EHR. Obtains, monitors, and documents vital signs and communicates findings to clinical staff. Prepares exam rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of medical supplies. Maintains accurate and timely patient documentation in the EHR. Scans and organizes records while complying with documentation standards including those set by Medicare and other payors. Answers incoming phone calls and other communications promptly, providing information or directing inquiries appropriately. Addresses patient questions and concerns within scope of knowledge, ensuring excellent service. Schedules patient appointments using EMR, ensuring appropriate provider and service assignment. Coordinates patient services and manages referrals as needed. Verifies patient insurance coverage, completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires, identifies need for ABNs, and ensures compliance with CMS, HIPAA, EMTALA, and Joint Commission standards. Cleans and prepares clinical rooms and equipment for use. Ensures tools are functioning and restocks daily to maintain readiness for patient care. Manages incoming and outgoing office correspondence, monitors and orders supplies for both front desk and clinical areas, and participates in departmental meetings and quality initiatives. Assists all providers and clinical team members as needed to support patient care workflows. Communicates with clinical assistants to ensure continuity of care. Adheres to departmental procedures, infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and models the principles of a Just Culture and organizational values at all times.
