Nature and Scope The Outpatient Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely registration of patients presenting for outpatient services and the Emergency Department. This position is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, setting the tone for a positive patient experience. The role requires attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that demands both accuracy and compassion. Location We are located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971. Compensation Compensation Philosophy: We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience Compensation Range: $19.83- $25.31/ hour Job Status / Shift Information Full-time, benefited Qualifications Experience: Knowledge of insurance verification, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations. One year of hospital or clinic registration, billing, or related healthcare experience preferred. Experience using Cerner strongly preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Superb customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills Efficient time management skills and the ability to multi-task Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Exceptional organizational, planning, coordinating and collaborating skills Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems Responsibilities Patient Registration and Check-In: Perform complete and accurate registration for all outpatient and emergency room encounters, including demographic, insurance, and guarantor information. Verify patient identity following hospital and HIPAA standards. Confirm insurance eligibility, verify necessary authorizations, and collect co-pays or deposits as required. Accurately enter and update patient data within EHR, ensuring data integrity for billing and clinical use. Review physician orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical necessity and regulatory requirements.
