Job Details Job Location: Mammoth Lakes - Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $22.11 - $31.49 Hourly Job Shift: Day The Patient Access Representative is responsible for professional and efficient operation of the admission/registration process and can work independently in one or more patient access areas in the hospital. Performs a variety of patient access functions related to patient check-in and check-out including: appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and point of service collections. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the revenue cycle. This position works closely with patients and must provide excellent customer service What You'll Do: Opens/closes front desk according to current procedures. Greets all patients in a courteous and timely manner. Answers multi-line telephone; takes clear, detailed, and eligible messages and transfers call to appropriate department(s) when necessary. May operate the switchboard for answering and transferring telephone calls, routine inquiries, and make necessary connections on the overhead paging system. Schedules patient appointments using computerized scheduling system. Enters and/or updates patient information in computerized hospital information systems. Manages all internal and external referrals. Who You Are: Excellent communicator Detail oriented Good interpersonal skills Strong customer service skills Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred. Minimum of one-year experience in hospital registration or admitting preferred. Good telephone etiquette. Computer skills required: Typing 30-45 WPM. Competent with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Previous use of multi-line phones, fax and copy machine(s) preferred. Job Information: Full-time, day shifts including weekends. Starting wage $22.11 to $26.80 based on qualifications.
