Description Position Summary: Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Patient Access Specialist plays a vital role in providing a welcoming and efficient experience for patients by managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and facilitating access to healthcare services. This position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered service. The specialist will also coordinate scheduling, maintain accurate records, and assist with front desk operations as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming patient calls, ensuring all inquiries are addressed in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner. Accurately document patient registration and insurance information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards. Schedule and confirm patient appointments, tests, and referrals according to established protocols and patient needs. Ensure efficient coordination of patient communication by relaying messages accurately between patients, providers, and clinical staff. Assist in verifying insurance coverage and providing patients with necessary financial information related to their care. Use office technology, including electronic health records (EHR) systems, telephones, fax machines, and email, to facilitate smooth operations. Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow efficiency and optimize patient access to care. Provides backup support to front desk and scheduling staff as needed. Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing patient documents. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a professional and inviting environment. Proactively identify and communicate operational challenges or patient concerns to the Front Desk Manager. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the healthcare facility. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred. Proficiency in using computers, scheduling systems, and office equipment. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
