Description We’re looking for a well-rounded, friendly Medical Billing Specialist who loves both the numbers side and the people side of healthcare. If you enjoy answering the phone, calmly explaining bills to patients, posting payments, chasing down aged insurance claims, and jumping in on denials when needed, you’ll fit right in with our tight-knit team. Answer incoming calls and professionally discuss patient bills, payment plans, and insurance questions Post insurance and patient payments accurately and in a timely manner Work aged insurance claims (30/60/90+ days) and follow up with carriers Research and appeal simple denials when necessary Keep patient accounts clean and up to date Help the team wherever needed — we’re a small, collaborative office and everyone wears multiple hats Maintain excellent documentation and meet daily/weekly productivity goals Requirements What You Bring to the Table 1+ years of medical billing experience (family practice, specialty practice, or outpatient clinic preferred) Solid understanding of insurance aging, payment posting, and denial processes Excellent phone manners and the ability to explain medical bills in plain English Experience with Athena Centricity EHR, and Phreesia is a big plus High school diploma or equivalent Team-player attitude — you’re reliable, positive, and happy to help coworkers Why You’ll Love Working Here Stable daytime hours (no weekends or major holidays) Supportive team that actually helps each other Competitive hourly pay Benefits: health insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, etc. If you’re a detail-oriented problem solver who also has great people skills, we want to talk to you!
