The Patient Account Representative works under the guidance of the Billing Manager to assist the patients of our oncology & hematology practice. This team member works closely with other members of the Billing Department, as well as the physicians, registered nurses, and outside patient assistance sources. The Patient Account Rep will: Complete financial assessments on all new patients requiring chemotherapy/infusions/injections. This includes assessment, follow up on documentation, payment plans, resource list, and applications daily Assist patients with assistance foundations, co-pay programs, and other assistance needs as identified Redirect patient to appropriate resources as needed Work with drug companies/reps for drug assistance for uninsured patients Initiate payment plans for patients with balances Requirements Hiring Manager: Michelle Lemon Minimum of 6–12 months in current position required. Must be in good standing and performing at or above expectations in current role. Interview with the hiring manager is required. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in healthcare administration or a related field preferred. Previous experience in medical scheduling, referrals, or healthcare administrative support strongly preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems required. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Reliable attendance and the ability to work standard clinic hours.
