Thisindividual is responsible for coordinating the efforts to resolve complex accounts and ensuring that interactions with patients and insurance companies are compassionate and consistent during billing and follow-up activities. ***MUST RESIDE IN CENTRAL, FL*** Responsibilities Essential Functions: • Responsible for the daily allocation ofresponsibilitiesto the patient accounting specialists • Conducts data integrity auditsto ensure that productivity and qualitymetrics are consistently met • Coordinates effortsto improve the performance of the patient accounting specialists as necessary • Confers with third parties as needed regarding the resolution of accounts • Oversees special projects developed by department manager • Acts as a resource for day-to-day operations questions and the training of new team members • Creates and distributes departmental reports • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all third-party reimbursementrequirements and/or through knowledge of collection agency procedures and Fair Debt Collection Practices ACT (FDCPA) • Responsible for the maintenance of appropriate department schedules • Providesfeedback tomanager for human resourcesfunctionssuch as hiring, coaching, and counseling • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures Other Related Functions: • Attends educational opportunities outside of the department as directed by management • Assists his/her manager in planning and organizing department activities • Takes a proactive role in problem resolution • Facilitates and participatesin departmentalmeetings • Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education/Training: • High School or GED required. • Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or related field preferred. • Three (3) years of Revenue cycle experiencemay be substituted for the associate’s degree. • Must complete Orlando Health staff development within 6 months. • Works proficiently with Microsoft applications(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote) Licensure/Certification: • HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification received within six (6) months Experience: • Two (2) years as a Patient Accounts Specialist III or other equivalent position within Revenue Management or minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related field (medical billing/collections/managed care)
