By securing accurate benefit verification and payer authorization, this role protects access to essential services, supports families during vulnerable moments, and upholds our mission to maximize each child’s potential through compassionate, seamless care grounded in Christian principles Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital or clinic registration, insurance verification or authorizations, or case management support. License/Certification/Credential: None Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duty Percent of Time Verify and obtain insurance coverage and benefits via insurance company website, insurance eligibility programs or by telephone for all patients registered for inpatient services for all payer types. Obtain pre-authorizations and continued stay authorizations for timely and accurate reimbursement. 40% Obtain and document prior authorizations for external imaging procedures. 20% Liaise with insurance companies to resolve authorization issues, denials, or coverage clarifications. 10% Maintain detailed documentation in the EHR and payer portals. 5% Communicate with families regarding benefit coverage and authorization status as appropriate. 5% Report monthly metrics (authorization volume, turnaround, denial trends) to leadership. 5% Collaborate with Registration, Case Management, Billing, and Inpatient and Outpatient teams to ensure compliance and continuity. 10% Other duties as assigned. 5% About Us Our work begins where we are all equal - at the heart.
