Description
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Pain Services Department. The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities.  Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties and ordering and receiving supplies.   Candidates interviewed for this role will be asked to present proof of required degrees, certificates and/or certifications at the time of the interview.  Candidates unwilling or unable to provide said documentation will not be considered. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam, and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification. Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent required * Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification required * CPR within 90 days of employment * Glucoscan within 90 days of employment * 1-2 years of experience preferred.
