Description At Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty and Emergency (SAVSEC), patient care always comes first. We are currently seeking Patient Care Assistants who are eager to grow their skills, learn from experienced veterinary professionals, and play a hands-on role in caring for animals in a specialty and emergency setting. This position is ideal for enthusiastic, compassionate individuals who are curious, motivated, and excited to learn while making a real difference in patients’ lives. About the Role As a Patient Care Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of our medical team, supporting doctors and veterinary technicians while gaining valuable clinical experience. We believe education happens every day—through mentorship, teamwork, and hands-on patient care. Our primary goals are to ensure the comfort, medical care, and well-being of our patients while actively developing your skills in a supportive learning environment. Reports to the Veterinary Technician Manager and Assistant Veterinary Technician Manager. Requirements What We’re Looking For Education (Required): High school diploma or equivalent Experience (Preferred): One (1) year of veterinary hospital experience Veterinary Assistant Certificate Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow professionally Ability to stay calm, positive, and detail-oriented in stressful situations Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and personalities Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed Team-oriented mindset
