Description
We are searching for a Patient Care Assistant (Surgical Orth Unit)— someone to perform a variety of routine and specialized patient care activities, as assigned, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). Care will be delivered that incorporates Family Centered Care in a cost-effective manner and is developmental and age-appropriate for the patient population. *We have multiple night shifts available, PRN, Part time and Full time* Think you’ve got what it takes? Knowledge of nursing care Ability to perform tasks for numerous patients, communicate effectively, utilize monitoring equipment and basic patient care equipment Ok with every other weekend commitment Minimum Qualifications H.S. Diploma or GED One of the following: Completion of a formal nursing assistant educational program or certification (Diploma/Course/Certificate/associate’s degree/Etc. completed in a Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, or similar clinical education program) OR Currently enrolled in a BSN degree program with one clinical rotation completed at the time of hire OR One (1) year of direct patient care experience Job Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates ability to collaborate with multiple RNs in a professional manner to prioritize workload based on patient/family needs as evidenced by supervisory observation and verbal/written feedback Acts as a resource to new employees and other members of the team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care as evidenced by supervisory observation and verbal/written feedback Provides input to the RN for the development and ongoing modification of the plan of care, as evidenced by supervisory observation, verbal/written feedback, and review of the pan of care Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers and other health care team members as evidenced by supervisory observation and verbal/written feedback Demonstrates the ability to problem solve, identify appropriate resources, adapt to ongoing changes and handle conflict management with a professional and supportive attitude Maintains confidentiality concerning patients/family issues as evidenced by supervisory observation and verbal/written feedback As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
