Team Impact In this position, you will be an important member of the patient care team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. As part of the patient care team, the PCA ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, as well as appropriate utilization of resources. The PCA ensures comfort and the first level of care for patients.  The patient care team identifies desired outcomes for each patient based on assessment data, and plan of care and completes ongoing assessments to facilitative achievement of desired outcomes. Some highlights of this opportunity include:  * Great opportunity for advancement for those with an interest in patient care  * Shift differentials  * Tuition reimbursement * Clinical ladder for professional advancement   How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities * Perform all aspects of first-level patient care including promoting hygiene and mobility * Measure and record patients’ vitals such as temperature and blood pressure * Responds to patient/family needs and requests * May assist and support physicians/nurses during routine procedures and treatments * Report all observations, changes in patient condition to responsible RN for timely, appropriate evaluation and response * Prepare hospital rooms * Change patients’ bed sheets, pillows and turning or repositioning patients in their beds * Delivers meals to patients and assist with feeding * Help patients dress and/or assist with toileting needs * Bathe patients * Listen to patients’ concerns, record them and report them to a nurse  * Patient companion when needed Education/Accredited Programs * High school diploma/GED equivalent required * Medical terminology a plus * Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; can be obtained after hire Skills/Abilities * Patient care experience strongly preferred  * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills   Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.50 to $27.75 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
