OVERVIEW

We are a Durable Medical Equipment provider that specializes in Iceless Cold Compression Devices, Red light therapy, and patient monitoring. We are licensed in 29 states, and our home office is in Michigan. We take pride in the fact that we hire, vet, and thoroughly train the best Clinical Specialists to deliver first-class patient in-home services.
This position is part-time and is a contractor position (1099). This position will deliver medical equipment to patients’ homes in the greater Los Angeles area. This person will also train the patient in how to use the medical equipment. The description of the Clinical Specialist position is shown below. You must have reliable transportation to be considered for the position. Spanish and English-speaking mandatory.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for completing tasks associated with delivering medical devices to patients. This mainly includes contacting patients to schedule medical device delivery, driving to patient home to deliver the device, training the patient about the basic use of the device, providing support to the patient in case of questions or device malfunction, and sometimes picking the device up at end the service. Specific job responsibilities will include passing required HIPAA certifications, timely patient services, proper submission of documents, and communication with the delivery coordinator supervisor.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate or higher

QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of HIPAA Certification and Compliance as required by state and federal agencies. Keeps HIPAA certification current at all times.
  • Pass background check as required by state and federal agencies
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Successful completion of initial Clinical Specialist Training during the on-boarding process

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy
  • Knows how to use iPad
  • Prior experience with DocuSign is a plus but training will be provided
  • Has a vehicle that can be used for travel to patient locations
Responsibilities
  • Delivers Medical Devices to patients in a timely manner (i.e., patient “fittings”) as assigned by supervisor
  • Contacts patient to arrange a date and time for device delivery
  • Trains each patient on the proper use of each medical device provided by AMS
  • Provides 24x7 “on-call” support for each patient serviced
  • Retrieve devices from patients when required at end-of-service
  • Responds promptly, professionally and courteously to patients’ needs.
  • Manages Device Inventory under the direction of supervisor
  • Submit electronic delivery and pickup documentation using iPad
  • Effective time management and prioritizes assigned patient fittings effectively.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters regarding patients
  • Passes a HIPAA training course (approx. 2 hours) and complies with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Works independently in a self-directed, non-confrontational, and collaborative manner.
  • Displays high ethical standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operation if the department and the company.
