Description Job Summary: The Patient Care Coordinator is a multi-faceted role that will vary depending on the needs of the surgery center. This position reports to the Director of Quality and Billing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Opening or closing of the surgery center. Meeting and greeting patients, visitors, doctors, and vendors upon arrival. Answering the telephones and routing calls appropriately. Monitors medical gas alert/alarm panel and notifies appropriate staff if activated. Has position of the panic alarm in the facility. Has the knowledge to activate, if needed. Participates in fire and emergency response and drills. May be required to assist with a medical emergency event if takes place in the lobby. This would include alerting Code Blue and initiating BLS measures. Acts as the liaison between the patients, visitors, and staff requiring the ability to effectively communicate. Assists and assures vendors and all visitors are registered prior to entrance to the facility. Regularly rounds in the lobby to assure cleanliness. Reports issues to the supervisor. Enters and updates current patient treatment, insurance information and demographics into the computers electronic Health System (EHS) requiring the ability to access, input and retrieve information. Collects co-payment, deductibles and completes daily deposit accurately. Performs general office duties such as filing, answering inquires, printing forms and organization of medical records, photocopying and data entry. COVID compliance tasks: Assisting with screening of all personnel who request access to the center. Regular and frequent disinfection of lobby and supplies used. Remains knowledgeable and compliant regarding HIPAA rules and regulations. May be requested to assist in medical records. May be requested to assist in scheduling duties. May be requested to transport patients to private vehicles upon discharge. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Certifications: · High School Diploma. · BLS training through American Heart Association. · Previous reception and admitting experience in a medical facility preferred.
