G71 is a Women’s Health Unit that provides care to patients undergoing total abdominal/robotic laparoscopic hysterectomies, vaginal hysterectomies, anterior/posterior repairs, vulvectomies, mastectomies with tissue expanders, mastectomies with DIEP flap reconstruction, TRAM flap reconstruction and latissimus dorsi flaps. This unit also cares for a small population of plastic surgery female flap reconstruction and postpartum patients with high-risk babies. A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00pm—7:30 am. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN. Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: A high school diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Responsibilities

The Patient Care Nursing Assistant provides or assists with patient care under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs and personal care. They also report any abnormal findings and assist in maintaining a clean environment for patients.
