Responsibilities Under the direction of a licensed clinical staff member, the Patient Care Technician 1 (PCT1) provides both basic patient care and clerical support using defined procedures and standards in accordance with the goals of the unit and the philosophy of Community Medical Centers (CMC). Performs and assists with elemental aspects of patient care such as nutrition, bed scale weights, intake/output (I/O), taking vital signs, etc. in coordination with the patient care team. Assists licensed clinical staff as needed with direct patient care and provides administrative and office management support to the unit(s). Serves as a centralized focus of administration, information and communication. Qualifications Education High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Successful completion of one of the following is required Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program Obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Paramedic program Enrollment in, or completion of, an accredited clinical RN or LVN program Experience 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital preferred Licenses and Certifications BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required One of the following is required CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active or inactive status is acceptable) EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable) AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable) PARAMEDICC - Paramedic Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable) Enrollment in, or completion of, an accredited clinical RN or LVN program Disclaimers • Pay ranges listed are an estimate and subject to change.• If any bonuses are noted, they are only applicable to external hires meeting criteria.
