Patient Care Tech - Full Time POSITION SUMMARY: This position assists with patient care flow and activities which support the department’s clinical functions. Duties include, but not are not limited to: * Updating patients and visitors on their wait times for procedures according to CVH customer service standards. * Transporting patients to and from departments for medical imaging procedures. * Working with the staff to determine other patient care needs.   POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: * High School education or equivalent. Certification Required: * BLS certificate required (or obtain within 90 days of hire). Minimum Work Experience: * Previous experience working in a hospital setting highly preferred. * Professional customer service skills. * Basic computer skills required. * Good organizational and multi-tasking skills. * Medical terminology and/or medical experience preferred. * Ability to read and communicate in English, bilingual abilities preferred. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Reviews the department's record keeping system and recommends changes and/or updates as needed. Patient Care * Get pillows and blankets for patient as needed. * Answer phones as needed. * Transport patients to and from other departments as needed.  Communication * Answers and directs phone calls in a professional manner in regard to transferring of calls, taking messages, or following up with clients and returning calls. * Demonstrates professional phone etiquette. * Uses good organizational and multi-tasking skills. * Daily communication with personnel from all departments for the purpose of scheduling diagnostic tests and treatments. * Daily communication with physicians, nurses, visitors, and patients. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary. * Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department. * Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital. * Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager. * Reports to work on time and is at work as scheduled, as observed by manager. FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS Working Conditions * Contact with administration, physicians, managers, and patients under a wide variety of circumstances. * Exposure to infections and contagious diseases. * Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. * Subject to the hazards of flammable and explosive gasses. * Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, emergencies and crisis. Physical Requirements * Standing, walking, typing, bending, reaching, and sitting. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
