*This position can have you being floated to Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital North, and Miami Valley Hospital South* *Letter of Recommendation from School Preferred* General Summary/Responsibilities: The Patient Care Technician is a multi-skilled individual able to perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Identities abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and reports those findings to the Registered Nurse. Essential Duties & Functions: 1. Performs and documents patient care skills completely and efficiently as delegated by the nurse upon verification of PCT competence. 2. Makes appropriate notifications regarding abnormal findings. 3. Promptly answers calls, responds to the needs of patients, visitors and/or family members and relays information/requests to appropriate person(s). 4. Appropriately secures and handles supplies/medications/lab specimens transported into/within unit. 5. Assists with the location and management of patient property. Minimum Level of Education Required: No requirement • At least 8th grade • Attendance in Vocational or High School • Age > 16 Additional requirements: Required to work within the scope of State and Federal minor labor and wage and hour limitations. Licensure/Certification/Registration ▪ Current HealthCare provider or Professional Rescuer BLS/Responder certification required prior to completion of orientation. ▪ Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Working Permits: Every minor 14 through 17 years of age must have a working permit unless otherwise stated in Chapter 4109.
