Overview Patient Care Technician - Emergency Room Shift: Weekend Package Days; 6:45A-7:15P Friday, Saturday, Sunday Full-Time offers eligible for a $3,000 Sign-On Bonus. The Patient Care Technician is a member of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for a variety of tasks and services to assist in the provision of care and comfort for patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities Supports delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by partnering with RNs and the care team to achieve patient goals. Performs delegated clinical tasks (such as vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, room turnover, CPR assistance, and care in high-acuity situations) in accordance with competency and scope of practice. Accurately documents patient data and care activities in the EMR to ensure a complete and timely medical record. Communicates clearly and professionally with the RN, healthcare team, patients, and families regarding patient status and care needs. Provides 1:1 observation for high-risk patients when assigned, following Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and sitter protocols. Ensures detailed and safe hand-off communication at every transition of care to support continuity and quality outcomes. Promotes patient and staff safety by helping prevent errors, accidents, and infections and reporting concerns promptly. Maintains awareness of assigned patients’ condition and care needs, taking accountability for delivering care within role expectations. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Completion of RN/Education lead training Day within 6 months of hire Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required. CPI certification within first six months of employment. Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. This position does not get reported with Direct Care Workers (DCW). Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a fundamentals course in nursing school or completion of EMT or CNA course Six months of clinical experience Experience or previous EMS experience CNA certification EMT certification
