Job Title: Patient Care Technician/Medical Assistant
Department: MSP Clinic
Status: Full Time
Schedule: Days, 32-40 hours per week

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The PCT is responsible for assisting in the delivery of health care services under the general direction of the Clinic Coordinator and Medical Director.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • CNA or MA certification (preferred)
  • Proficient typist with computer skills.
  • Proven Customer Service skills.
  • Previous Medical Experience Preferred.
  • BLS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients, rooms patient, takes vitals and documents pertinent information about reason for the visit. Collects information to ensure quality measures are met and performs a medication reconciliation at every visit
  • Communicates with patients in person and over the phone to ensure that their requests are documented and transferred to the appropriate clinic staff, billing staff or administrative staff to handle.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Collaborates with other clinic staff, clinic coordinator and Director on process improvements and policy changes.
  • Attends monthly meetings and takes an active role to ensure our patients get the best care.
  • Familiarizes self with Rural Health Manual and follows policies and procedures of IMH.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport
  • Other duties as assigned.
