Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Patient Care Technician (Certified) position is to be responsible for the delivery of safe, quality patient/family focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse. The Patient Care Technician (Certified) is a member of a designated care team and collaborates with team members in achieving goals. Patient care is provided congruent with the patient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations. The competent practice of the Patient Care Technician is evidenced by patient/family goal achievement, patient safety, patient/family satisfaction, and care and services that are thoroughly documented as dictated by policy and procedure. The Patient Care Technician (Certified) conducts her/himself according to the behavioral expectations articulated for this role. Qualifications Certified as a Patient Care Technician by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent. Ability to read and write English. Ability to lift/move patients with or without reasonable accommodations. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to organize the activities of multiple patients. High School graduate or equivalent. CPR/BLS Certified. Required skills include phlebotomy, EKG and any other skills and abilities needed.
