About the Role The Patient Care Tech performs patient care activates within the limits of the position. POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  * Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. * Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. * Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and phlebotomy procedures as required. * Assist with patient mobility, including repositioning, transferring, and ambulation. * Provide basic medical care, such as changing dressings and applying prescribed treatments. * Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. * Support patients with toileting needs and maintain personal hygiene. * Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals about patient conditions and concerns. * Assist in the collection of medical specimens for testing. * Observe and report changes in a patient’s physical, mental, and emotional health. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care. * Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and staff. * All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  * Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure or stress.  * Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and possess good oral and written communication skills. * Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles. * Strong assessment, organizational and problem - solving skills as evidenced by capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components. * Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team and patients and their families.  * Uses critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. * Demonstrates the ability to establish priorities among the essential functions of the job and coordinate these functions with others.  * Demonstrates the ability to speak, read, and write the English language.                                  * Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate. * Current and active BLS certification.
Responsibilities
