We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our dynamic 6A Ortho/Neuro/Trauma Unit. Scheduling requirements include availability for rotating shifts, weekends and holidays. The position offers opportunities for growth, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. A starting pay rate of $18.40/hour for Nursing Assistants is offered, based on experience and qualifications. Primary Responsibilities: Assist with activities of daily living, basic patient care, point-of-care testing, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, specimen collection. The role may also involve advanced skills like phlebotomy, IV removal, and EKGs, depending on department needs. High school diploma or equivalent. Must also have at least one of the below: One year of general healthcare experience 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical rotation required Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field Nursing Students or those with EMT experience preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Clearances with renewal: Act 31, 33, 34, 73 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
